Construction Management is a system specifically created to promote the successful execution of construction projects for owners.

As the Construction Manager, Gibbs Wilson acts as the overseers of the entire project, from inception to design to execution. The Construction Manager holds an important role, as they identify and correct budget or quality issues early in the design phase. The role as the manager focuses on coordinating the different needs of project on a large scale. As the construction manager we are responsible for maintaining the relationship with all the contractors and subcontractors to ensure the smooth and timely completion of a project. As well, the construction manager arranges and maintains project relationships with the trade contractors and designers associated with particular aspects of the project, including setting timetables for the completion of certain sections and resolving conflicts as they arise.

Beyond coordinating the internal workings of a project, the manager also handle's external concerns. These include handling equipment and materials suppliers, developing plans with local emergency and fire departments for on-site safety, and risk management.

With the constant improvement in diagnostic imaging equipment, Gibbs Wilson has kept up-to-date with the latest radiation shielding regulations and requirements. Typically, lead and leaded glass is used to create the radiation barrier and must be installed properly to ensure that there are no leaks, whether it be by screw penetrations or obstructions such as electrical outlets and med gas valves.

Over the years GW has developed techniques and procedures to meet these challenges in its quest to create a zero-leakage room.

A critical component of any MRI facility is its RF cabin. Gibbs Wilson is a certified installer for ETS-Lindgren RF enclosures in Canada, within the medical facility environment.

Cabin assembly is a process that requires skilled precision, in order to install a shield that will filter out external interferences and provide technicians with the best possible imaging.

As approved ETS-Lindgren’s agents, GW crews can provide new installations, test existing facilities, or execute repairs.

Magnetic shielding incorporates the use of silicon steel to contain the pacemaker Gauss line limits within the MRI space. Depending on the site conditions magnetic shielding installation can be difficult due to weight factors and existing interferences. Gibbs-Wilson has the equipment and expertise to install this type of shield to the manufacturer’s specifications, ensuring a safe and effective final barrier.

Gibbs-Wilson is qualified to construct procedure rooms that meet or surpass Ministry of Health shielding requirements, providing a safe environment for staff and patients. GW can assist your staff in gathering site condition information required for MOH radiation certification.

Gibbs Wilson has expanded its service base to include the supply and installation of dedicated packaged or split chilled water systems. GW can design site-specific systems to meet your spatial and cooling requirements. We can design, manufacture and install reliable equipment to satisfy a variety of dedicated chilled water requirements.
Options available include packaged or self-contained units with manual or automatic bypass panels that can be fully-integrated into BAS systems. Units are available for purchase with leasing options available on some model sizes.
